Turkmen-Italian political consultations were held in Ashgabat, in which Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Edmondo Cirielli took part. During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries. This was reported by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The diplomats exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and considered the possibility of holding joint events within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Particular attention was paid to expanding trade and economic cooperation, including holding meetings and forums between representatives of business circles. Issues of strengthening cooperation in the fields of archeology, education and culture were also discussed.
The parties confirmed their mutual intention to intensify political dialogue and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
