A delegation of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan made a working visit to Dubai (UAE) from January 6 to 8.

The trip took place within the framework of the bilateral Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Affairs, signed on November 21, 2022 in Abu Dhabi, according to the customs website.

The Turkmen delegation got acquainted with the activities of the Federal Customs Administration of the UAE and its experience in implementing the Authorized Economic Operators program. During the meeting, the issue of cooperation on mutual recognition of authorized economic operators was discussed. In this regard, the Arab side proposed a draft Action Plan for further development of interaction in this area.

Dubai Customs organized visits for Turkmen colleagues to the Jebel Ali seaport and the Dubai Customs Academy.

At the port of Jebel Ali, an acquaintance took place with the innovative system of radioactive scanning of vehicles, with the help of which inspections are carried out, cargo transport and containers are checked. Thanks to its high penetrating power, the contents are thoroughly checked without causing damage to goods and food, and prohibited attachments are identified. The system is capable of scanning 150 trucks per hour, moving at a speed of 8-15 km.

During a visit to the Dubai Customs Academy, innovative methods of teaching customs were studied, in particular the virtual reality teaching method, the source notes.
