Last week, a meeting was held in Kabul between the acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan, Hidayatullah Badri, and the CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, Muhammetmurad Amanov, the Turkmen news website “Orient” reports.

The parties discussed the latest achievements of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project and issues related to accelerating the remaining work. Particular attention was paid to creating new jobs for Afghans and improving the skills of Afghan engineers involved in the project.

In December, a delegation from Turkmenistan inspected the construction work on the Serhetabat-Herat section in Afghanistan. Construction of this section began in September 2024 and is an important stage in the implementation of the TAPI project.

The continuation of the construction of the gas pipeline on the Serhetabat-Herat section, known as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly", is planned for 2025 in the work plans of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan. This underlines the importance of the project for Turkmenistan and its desire for further implementation.
