President of Turkmenistan receives New Year's greetings from heads of foreign states, National Wildlife Park of Turkmenistan to celebrate 15th anniversary, Ambassador of Turkmenistan presents credentials to President of Iran and other news

1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov continues to receive New Year's greetings from foreign leaders. Foreign leaders send their best wishes to the head of Turkmenistan, and well-being and prosperity to the Turkmen people.

2. In 2025, it will be 15 years since the main zoological park of Turkmenistan moved to the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag. Over the years, the National Wildlife Park, located in the town of Gokdere near Ashgabat, has turned into a modern nature conservation complex of international level. Every year, the park is visited by about 270 thousand people, who can see both local fauna and exotic animals here.

3. Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tehran Ilyas Gayipov presented his credentials to President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian. During the meeting, Masoud Pezeshkian expressed warm greetings and best wishes to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

4. On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov visited the US Embassy in Ashgabat and left a note in the book of condolences in connection with the death of former US President Jimmy Carter.

5. Turkmenistan was included in the list of 15 countries with the largest number of citizens who visited Azerbaijan last year. In 2024, more than 33 thousand residents of Turkmenistan visited the country.

6. Turkmenabat Flour Mill produced products worth over 138,5 million manats, fulfilling the annual plan by 102,4%. The enterprise produced 46 383 tons of flour, 135 tons of wheat groats and over 14 tons of bran.

7. Apple's attempts to resume sales of the iPhone 16 in Indonesia have failed, despite the company's offer to invest one billion dollars in local production. Indonesia's Ministry of Industry has rejected Apple's initiative to build a plant on the island of Batam to produce AirTag trackers. According to the authorities, the production of accessories does not solve the problem of localizing the production of the smartphones themselves, which is a key requirement of local legislation.

8. After a long struggle by environmental activists, Thailand has made a historic decision to completely stop importing plastic waste. Until recently, the kingdom was one of the key plastic recycling centers in Southeast Asia, receiving significant volumes of waste from developed countries. Since 2018, the main suppliers have been the United States, Great Britain, the European Union and Japan.

10. The Turkmenistan Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships are underway in Turkmenbashy. In the final bout in freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 79 kg, Alp Arslan Begenjov won the gold medal, defeating Ashir Kakamyradov. Abrai Shatlykov won the bronze medal in this category.
