In Ashgabat on December 23, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan J. Gurbangeldyev held a meeting with the head of the UNICEF office Jalpa Ratna, during which the parties discussed the results of joint work and outlined prospects for cooperation in the field of education, including the development of STEAM direction and the creation of conditions for inclusive learning.
At the meeting, specific achievements were noted within the framework of the implementation of the UNICEF Country Program for 2021-2025. In particular, a robotics club was opened in the city of Arkadag, and early development centers based in kindergartens began operating in Ashgabat and Lebap velayat.
The Minister of Education emphasized the importance of strategic documents adopted for the development of the country’s educational system, including the “National Action Plan for the Implementation of Children’s Rights in Turkmenistan for 2023–2028” and the “National Strategy for Early Child Development for 2020–2025.”
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the introduction of modern digital technologies into the educational process, the creation of interactive educational materials and advanced training of teachers. The UNICEF representative highly appreciated Turkmenistan's success in modernizing the education system and expressed readiness to further support the country's educational initiatives.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue working together to provide high-quality and accessible education for all children of Turkmenistan.
