President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been invited to Russia for festive events in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was announced by Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin during a press conference.
"Next year is a jubilee year - the 80th anniversary of our common Victory in the Great Patriotic War, of course, large-scale events will be held both in Russia and in Turkmenistan, dedicated to this date. I am sure that, following the good tradition, the President of Turkmenistan will visit the Russian Federation on these holidays. There is a corresponding invitation. I think that we should celebrate this date widely, festively, even taking into account the fact that, unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer veterans left. And we need to support them, make a real holiday for them," he said.
In 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, at the invitation of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, took part as an honorary guest in the celebrations in honor of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
