Yesterday, the Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, received credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Turkmenistan, Ms. Ekaterina Xagorari.
Congratulating the ambassador on behalf of the head of state, D. Gulmanova wished her success in her noble mission to strengthen the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their peoples, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
During the meeting, the new ambassador was introduced to the key vectors of the country's domestic and foreign policy. It was noted that among the priorities of Turkmenistan's peaceful foreign policy is the development of cooperation with European countries. It is successfully implemented in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the framework of the “Turkmenistan-EU” dialogue and through major international organizations and structures, in particular the UN.
The Ambassador was also informed about large-scale projects that are of great importance for the sustainable development of both Turkmenistan and the entire Central Asian region.
Particular emphasis was placed on the possibilities of establishing interparliamentary relations, which will directly contribute to the intensification of interstate dialogue in all key areas.
