On November 20, 2024, the Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Central Asia was held in Bishkek. The delegation of Turkmenistan was represented by the rectors of three universities: N. Kuliyev (Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics), B. Tanryberdiev (Turkmen State Financial Institute) and O. Ovezsahedov (Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly).
The rectors' speeches highlighted the achievements of the educational system of Turkmenistan and the initiatives of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Particular attention was paid to the development of the city of Arkadag as the first «smart» city in the country, where educational institutions are equipped with modern digital technologies.
A significant part of the reports was devoted to the 300th anniversary of the poet Makhtumkuli Fragi. The forum participants spoke about international scientific conferences, literary competitions and research projects aimed at popularizing his legacy.
At the end of the forum, the participants expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with universities in Turkmenistan and highly appreciated the information provided.
