The world faced unprecedented natural disasters: from devastating hurricanes and floods to large-scale fires and severe droughts.
Guterres emphasized the urgent need to implement early warning systems for climate threats. The UN is actively working on strategies to counteract extreme temperatures. However, the situation is complicated by the fact that half of the world’s countries still do not have such warning systems, and the poorest countries have only 10% of the necessary data to create them.
