At a recent auction at Sotheby's, a unique lot from the collection of famous car collector Rudi Klein was sold - a disassembled V12 engine from a classic Lamborghini Miura supercar. Despite its deplorable condition, the engine attracted the attention of collectors, reaching an impressive price of 216 thousand dollars, Auto.ru reports.

The unit sold was a collection of partially disassembled parts on bogies, many of which were corroded. The only documented information about the engine was its serial number (30452) and the chassis number of the car (4371) from which it was removed. Presumably, the engine came into the collection through Klein's company, Porche Foreign Auto Wrecking, which specialized in dismantling cars.

The engine belonged to the Miura P400S modification, produced from 1968 to 1971. This version became the most numerous in the lineup – 338 units were produced. Its distinctive feature was the upgraded four-liter V12, the power of which was increased from 350 to 370 horsepower, and the torque increased from 355 to 388 Nm.

Another lot from Klein's collection was sold at the same auction - an early version of the Miura without a power unit and transmission. With a preliminary estimate of 350-450 thousand dollars, the car was sold for an impressive 610 thousand, significantly exceeding the organizers' expectations.
