The 13th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held in Ashgabat. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was headed by Deputy Prime Minister S. Ziyozoda, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, it was noted that relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have acquired qualitatively new dynamics in recent years. Regular visits and high-level meetings contribute to the development of fruitful cooperation.
The agenda of the meeting included priority issues of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. The possibilities of diversifying mutually beneficial relations, increasing the volume of trade turnover, activating investment activities and implementing new joint projects were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the energy sector, transport and logistics, agriculture and the industrial complex.
The meeting participants also emphasized the importance of expanding contacts between business structures and holding joint events. In light of modern realities, strengthening cooperation in the scientific and technical sphere and the introduction of advanced technologies and innovations has become especially relevant.
Special attention was paid to the development of humanitarian contacts, including education and science. Turkmenistan and Tajikistan also actively interact in the cultural sphere, which is confirmed by the holding of cross Culture Days and other creative events.
Following the meeting, a corresponding Protocol was signed, confirming the parties' focus on the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of the agreements reached.
