The Chinese company United Aircraft Group has developed a unique unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Lanying R6000, which is considered the world's largest tiltrotor. This aircraft weighing 6 tons is capable of carrying up to 2 tons of cargo and can be operated in both unmanned and manned modes, Mail.ru reports.
Lanying R6000 Specifications:
Capacity: 10 passengers
Range: 4000 km
Maximum speed: 550 km/h
Flight altitude: 7620 m
In the summer of 2024, the UAV successfully passed its first tests, demonstrating flawless operation of all systems during a 20-minute flight.
The Lanying R6000 is capable of vertical takeoff and landing, as well as hovering in the air. The developers see broad prospects for the use of this UAV in the transport, logistics and military sectors, including defense and search and rescue operations.
The Lanying R6000 took more than a decade to create. To organize the mass production of this complex aircraft, United Aircraft Group has combined the efforts of more than 200 enterprises, covering all stages from development to operation.
The Lanying R6000 is planned to be produced in the Wuhu Aviation Industrial Park in Hefei County. The exact start date for production has not yet been announced.
