Hyundai, in collaboration with German optical giant Zeiss, has introduced holographic displays for windshields. This technology will replace traditional instrument panels by projecting all the necessary information directly onto the windshield of the car, gazeta.ru reports with reference to ITHome.
While the concept of holograms on the windshield is not new, Hyundai is becoming a pioneer in replacing the entire dashboard with a holographic interface. The company's future models will not have traditional screens in their cabins - all information will be displayed as a translucent interface on the windshield.
This innovation is aimed at improving driving safety by allowing drivers to focus on the road without having to read the instrument panel. Users will be able to customize the interface by selecting the information that is most important to them.
Hyundai has already created a prototype of the holographic windshield and received positive feedback from a test group of customers. The company plans to begin mass production and implementation of this technology in its cars by 2027.
