An improved entrepreneurship curriculum is being introduced in Turkmenistan.

The curriculum was modernized as part of the collaboration between the USAID Young Development Achievement (YDA) project and the School of Entrepreneurs of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

New teaching methods have been introduced that focus on more engaging, hands-on learning that encourages the development of problem-solving and creative thinking skills - key qualities needed for entrepreneurial success.

From September 30 to October 4, 2024, the USAID YDA project, together with the School of Entrepreneurs, conducted a training on the methodology of the improved entrepreneurship course program.

It was attended by teachers of the School of Entrepreneurs, including those from the velayat branches. The training focused on practical methods of teaching entrepreneurial skills, including cases, group work, and other interactive forms and methods of teaching. It is expected that the trained teachers will integrate new methods into their practices.

The next stage of the program involves training young people with promising business ideas at the branches of the School of Entrepreneurs in Ashgabat and the velayats, which will give young people the opportunity to develop and improve their business projects.

The program will end with a business project competition, which the USAID YDA Project is organizing jointly with the School of Entrepreneurs of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. The winners of the competition will be able to gain access to mentoring, investment opportunities, or other support to turn their ideas into reality.

This initiative is an important step in developing entrepreneurial skills among youth and aims to prepare a new generation of young entrepreneurs who will be able to make a significant contribution to the country's economy, according to a USAID YDA press release.
