A meeting with representatives of the Turkmen diaspora was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States.
During the meeting, dedicated to the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, important areas of the country’s development, reflected in the decisions taken at the recent meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, were discussed. Speaking to the participants, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev focused on the need to continue reforms in the field of education and improve the procedures for accrediting universities in accordance with international standards, which was also discussed with representatives of the US education system.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States Meret Orazov emphasized that the 33rd anniversary of the country’s independence symbolizes a new stage in the development of Turkmenistan. He noted that the program documents adopted at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty are aimed at improving the socio-economic living conditions of citizens, strengthening infrastructure, as well as developing international cooperation, which makes such celebrations especially important for the consolidation of society and its ties with the homeland.
The meeting participants discussed events dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi and expressed their readiness for further active cooperation and support of cultural and educational initiatives, the source notes.
