As part of the working visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan to the United States of America, a meeting was held with the Director of Government and External Relations of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Shannon Ashpole Litto.

ETS, a recognized world leader in the development of educational tests, presented an overview of its activities and proposed areas for expanding bilateral cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the meeting discussed prospects for cooperation in several key areas. Turkmenistan was offered cooperation in preparing for participation in international studies, such as PISA, with the development of methods for successful participation in these programs.

The possibility of cooperation in creating test questions using advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, based on such well-known tests as SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT and TOEFL was also considered.

Particular attention was paid to the possibility of studying the methodology of conducting PRAXIS tests for assessing knowledge and certifying teachers. The parties noted that the introduction of international testing standards can significantly improve the quality of education in Turkmenistan, contributing to the selection of the most prepared students and improving the overall level of educational services.

The implementation of the discussed areas of cooperation with ETS is aimed at modernizing the country’s education system and bringing it into line with international standards.
