1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on the next conscription for military service in October-December 2024. According to the document, male citizens aged 18 to 27 years who are not entitled to exemption or deferment from military service are subject to conscription. Simultaneously with the conscription of recruits, the Decree provides for the transfer to the reserve of military personnel who have served the terms established by law.

2. The President of Turkmenistan arrived on a working visit to Astana to participate in the second meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz. The plane of the head of state landed at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, where he was met by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and other officials.

3. Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Olaf Scholz held a meeting on the sidelines of the Central Asia-Germany Summit in Astana. The sides discussed key issues of interstate cooperation and expressed mutual satisfaction with the development of Turkmen-German relations. Special attention was paid to economic cooperation, including the role of the Joint Turkmen-German Working Group and the Eastern Committee of the German Economy in the development of interstate ties.

4. Three new varieties of winter wheat: “Serdar”, “Arkadag” and “Fraghi” have been created at the Research Institute of Grain Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan. The new wheat varieties were presented at the recent meeting of the CIS Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Production held in Turkmenistan.

5. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the progress of seasonal works in the agricultural sector of the country. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Atahallyev and hakims of velayats who reported on the current state of affairs in the agricultural sector. The meeting paid special attention to cotton harvesting and sowing of wheat. The President emphasized the importance of timely sowing campaign in accordance with agro-technical norms.

6. A briefing on the results of the Investment Forum of Turkmenistan held on September 10-11 was held in Ashgabat in the building of the Foreign Ministry. In his speech, Rashid Meredov noted the effectiveness of the Investment Forum, which brought together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, financial institutions, as well as dozens of local and foreign companies. Special attention at the briefing was paid to the ceremony of laying and launching important energy, transportation and communication infrastructure projects with the participation of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

9. Soccer club “Altyn Asyr” from Ashgabat arrived in Baghdad to participate in the first round of the AFC Champions League 2. The Turkmen team will play a match against local club “Air Force” on September 18 at the “Al-Madina” International Stadium. This is not the first meeting between the two teams. In 2018, “Altyn Asyr” lost to “Air Force” in the AFC Cup final with a score of 0:2 under current head coach Yazguly Hojageldiyev. Before the upcoming match, “Altyn Asyr” held the first training sessions in Baghdad. The match is expected to start at 23:00 Ashgabat time.

10. Turkmenistan's capital city has hosted 113 athletes from Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary provinces to compete for the National Tennis Cup. The tournament, held on the courts of the multifunctional stadium “Ashgabat”, attracted 59 boys and 54 girls aged 13 years and older. The Cup of Turkmenistan is one of the key annual tennis events in the country. Based on its results, the composition of the national team will be formed. The tournament is scheduled to end on September 22.
