Competitions for the country's Tennis Cup began in the capital of Turkmenistan, bringing together 113 athletes from Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats.
The tournament, held on the courts of the multifunctional stadium “Ashgabat”, attracted 59 boys and 54 girls aged 13 years and older, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
Competitions are held in singles, doubles and mixed categories. The main judge of the tournament is 39-year-old Evgeniy Molchanov, a national category referee and holder of the international class Level 1 coaching category.
The Turkmenistan Cup is one of the key annual tennis events in the country. Based on its results, the composition of the national team will be formed.
The end of the tournament is scheduled for September 22.
