The Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan M. Bashimova is participating in the 68th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is being held in Vienna, Austria.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, within the framework of its participation in the General Conference, on September 16, the delegation met with the Deputy Director General of the IAEA, Mr. Liu Hua.
The parties noted that cooperation with the IAEA is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. During the meeting, cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy in such areas as medicine, agriculture, environmental protection and water resources management was discussed. The efforts of the parties in developing the Framework Program for Cooperation with the IAEA were highly appreciated.
Also on this day, a meeting was held at the Federal Ministry for European and Foreign Affairs of Austria with the Director of the Department for the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, Eastern
Partnership, Türkiye and Central Asia, Mr. Gerhard Sailer. The parties discussed the current situation and prospects for the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Austria in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.
