To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, Japanese artist Kaoru Mori created a new illustration symbolizing cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Japanese Embassy in Turkmenistan.

The characters in the illustration are based on the national flags of Japan and five Central Asian countries. The drawing conveys the philosophy of the “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue, in which Japan acts as a catalyst and together moves forward towards cooperation and development among the five countries of Central Asia.

Kaoru Mori is also known for being the author of the 2014 manga Otoyomegatari, a story set in Central Asia. These illustrations were used extensively by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for public relations advertising.

Now, in addition to these illustrations of hers, which are still in use, the Japanese Foreign Ministry intends to use new drawings dedicated to the 20th anniversary to further revitalize the “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue, the embassy notes.

The “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue was launched in 2004 and represents the very first cooperation of foreign countries with the Central Asian states of this format.
