In London, heated discussions broke out on social networks around the unusual McLaren 570S supercar, as reported by Auto.ru with reference to Autoevolution. For at least four years now, this luxurious supercar has been standing motionless in front of one of the elite hotels in the British capital. The identity of the owner and the reasons for such a long downtime of the machine remain a mystery.

According to the publication, this abandoned McLaren managed to turn into a real local landmark. Tourists specially come to the Camden area to see this car with their own eyes. There are different versions about when exactly the supercar was parked at this place. Some argue that this happened back in 2018 or even 2014, but the publication is leaning towards a more plausible version of 2020.

The most common theory Is that the car belongs to one of the hotel guests. It is believed that the owner settled here shortly before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and for some reason was unable to return to his country. Interestingly, the supercar is not parked in the usual long-term parking lot, but in a special place with special permission from the hotel administration. Probably, the hotel management decided that a bright pink car would attract additional attention to their establishment.

There are also alternative versions. Some believe McLaren’s mysterious owner is so rich that he can afford to stay in an expensive hotel for several years. Others have suggested that he may own part of the hotel itself.

In the context of this story, it is worth mentioning a similar incident that occurred in 2022 in Athens, Greece. There, in the hotel parking lot, a Mini hatchback and a Yamaha motorcycle were found, which had been standing motionless for more than 30 years. It turns out that their original owner rented the underground parking space in the late 1980s, but died shortly after. His relatives and hotel staff either forgot about the existence of this technology or did not know about it at all.
