In the French city of Marseille, the first restaurant in Europe opened, which completely abandoned electricity, gas and firewood. All processes in the kitchen, from cooking to lighting the hall, are provided exclusively by solar energy, reports euro-pulse.ru.

The basis of the kitchen equipment is a large parabolic antenna that collects and focuses the sun’s rays. Thanks to this technology, the temperature on the surface of the stove reaches an impressive 400°C.

At the moment, the restaurant operates only on weekdays from 11:30 to 14:00, when solar activity is highest. However, the owners do not stop there and plan to install a biogas system that will process organic waste from the restaurant into gas. This innovation will allow you to continue working in cloudy weather and after sunset.

In addition to the green approach to energy supply, the restaurant plans to create its own vegetable garden on site to grow herbs and some vegetables.
