In China, a man named Wu, not even suspecting the possible consequences, swatted an annoying fly that landed on his face and lost an eye. This is reported by runews24.ru.

After the incident, Wu developed problems with his left eye: redness and swelling. The doctors' initial diagnosis of seasonal conjunctivitis turned out to be wrong. The prescribed treatment did not help, and the patient's condition worsened.

When he returned to the hospital, it turned out that the man had killed a drain fly on his face, which led to a bacterial infection. By this point, the affected eye had lost most of its vision and ulcers had formed around it.

To prevent the infection from spreading to the brain and possibly causing death, doctors were forced to remove the infected eye.

Chinese doctors recommend refraining from trying to kill insects on the body and washing hands regularly.
