President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Nurlan Nogaev, who presented his credentials to the head of state. This is stated in a report by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations. It was noted that ties between the countries are long-term and strategic, based on common cultural and historical values.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation within international organizations, including the UN, OSCE and the CIS. The parties also discussed interaction in the “Central Asia Plus” format.
In the economic sphere, energy and transport were highlighted as promising areas of cooperation. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s interest in the further development of trade and economic relations.
An important topic of discussion was the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties. The celebration in Turkmenistan of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi was noted, as well as the recent opening of a monument to the poet in Astana.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Nogaev assured the President of Turkmenistan of his intention to promote the further development of friendly relations and expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
