Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the opening of the statue of the outstanding Indian poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore in Turkmenistan a great honor for his country. This was reported by the Indian Embassy in Ashgabat.
The Tagore monument became part of a large-scale cultural and park complex, inaugurated on May 18 in the Turkmen capital with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The complex, located in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, includes a 60-meter monument to the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi and a unique Alley of famous poets and thinkers from different countries and eras.
The alley contains monuments to 24 world-famous writers and philosophers, including Goethe, Shakespeare, Dostoevsky, Balzac and Dante. Each sculpture reflects the individuality and creativity of the historical figure represented, symbolizing cultural diversity and international cooperation.
