Athletes from Turkmenistan will take part in the prestigious international rally “Silk Way 2024,” writes Match TV. A total of 117 racers from five countries will take to the start line: Turkmenistan, Russia, China, Mongolia and Belarus.
The competition will be held in five categories: all-terrain vehicles, SUVs, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs. 67 vehicles will be involved in the race.
The rally will take place from July 5 to 15 in Russia and Mongolia. The 5,257 km route will begin in Tomsk and end in Ulaanbaatar. The length of the special stages will be 2993 km.
According to the official website of the competition, Turkmenistan will be represented by four crews in the T2 SUV category:
- Merdan and Shokhrat Toilyev (start number 220, Nissan Patrol)
- Maksatmyrat Danatarov and Didar Orazmedov (221, Nissan Patrol)
- Meilis Abdullaev and Italmaz Charyev (225, Nissan Patrol)
- Shamyrat and Muhammetmyrat Gurbanov (226, Toyota Land Cruiser)
The Silk Road celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. The rally was held for the first time in 2009 along the route Kazan – Ashgabat.
