Days of Culture of Turkmenistan were successfully held in Japan

The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan were successfully held in Japan from June 12 to 14. The events within the framework of this cultural event were also dedicated to the year “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi”.

As part of the opening ceremony, a concert of Turkmen art masters was held in Tokyo, an exhibition of works of decorative and applied art of Turkmenistan and a display of traditional and modern Turkmen costumes were organized.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the Japanese government noted the particular importance of choosing the dates for the Days of Turkmen Culture, since June 14 coincides with the birthday of Yasunari Kawabata, a famous Japanese writer and Nobel Prize winner. The monument to Kawabata was erected in May of this year in Ashgabat.

As part of the cultural event, a number of meetings and a round table on the topic of culture, science and education were held at the University of Tsukuba, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi.

The closing ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Japan took place on June 14 in the city of Tsukuba, where cultural events and an exhibition of works of applied and artistic art of Turkmenistan were also held.
