Today, an alarming incident occurred in the center of Copenhagen - the current Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, was attacked, reports interfax.ru.
According to police, an unknown man struck the 44-year-old head of government while she was in one of the squares in the Old Town of the Danish capital. The attacker was quickly detained by law enforcement officers.
The identity and motives of the attacker are currently being determined. There have been no official comments from government officials yet.
Eyewitnesses of the incident report that after the attack, Frederiksen was immediately evacuated from the danger zone by her security guards. According to preliminary data, the Prime Minister was not seriously injured.
