Researchers at the University of Washington have uncovered the secret to keeping mosquitoes away: your clothing choices. It turns out that these insects not only react to human odor, but also prefer certain colors. Mail.ru reports this with reference to Nature Communications.
As biology professor Jeffrey Riffel explains, mosquitoes are attracted to the long wavelengths of the visible spectrum, that is, red, orange, black and cyan (sea green). You should avoid wearing these colors if you want to remain undetected by mosquitoes.
It is recommended to give preference to purple, blue, white and green.
