1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the commissioning ceremony of the Bagtyýarlyk water treatment plant with a capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters of water per day. The source of water is an open reservoir with a volume of one million cubic meters, located on the right bank of the Karakum River. Within the framework of the opening ceremony, colorful song, music and dance performances by creative groups took place. In addition, minibuses donated on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan were presented in a solemn atmosphere.
2. The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care in a solemn ceremony handed over two modern Dialog+ hemodialysis machines to the capital's Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health.
3. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS. Sergey Lebedev expressed sincere gratitude to the head of the Turkmen state for his active support for the development of constructive cooperation in the CIS space, aimed at the general well-being of the participating countries. He especially noted Turkmenistan’s proactive approach to strengthening economic and humanitarian ties within the Commonwealth, taking into account modern realities and prospects.
4. On the same day, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Lebedev. The guest expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet in person and the hospitality provided on Turkmen soil. Thanking Sergey Lebedev for his kind words, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS successful conduct.
6. Govshut Akmyradov, a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Cyberphysical Systems of the Oguzhan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan, took 1st place in the International Olympiad in General Physics among engineering students in the capital of Romania. The Olympiad included 2 areas - classical and modern physics. Govshut Akmyradov won the competition in modern physics.
7. It is planned to build two large factories for the production of bread and bakery products in Ashgabat. The state association Türkmengallaönümleri has announced an international tender for the implementation of these projects. According to the tender documentation, it is planned to build factories with an annual capacity of 15 thousand tons of pan bread, 14,5 thousand tons of national bread, 500 tons of bakery and confectionery products, as well as 600 tons of dry yeast.

8. A 59 years old Japanese man was arrested after hitting his 62 years old wife in the head with a banana peel. The woman herself turned to the police, saying that her husband was intoxicated, insulted her and had already used “fruit” violence. Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene interrogated the rowdy, and he, to his shame, admitted guilt. The man explained that the cause of the conflict was a neighbor who parked his car incorrectly on their property. He wanted to deal with him peacefully, but his wife tried her best to dissuade him. Angry, he lashed out at her, using the first thing he could get his hands on—a banana peel. The Japanese also got into an altercation with the police, saying that this was a “purely family matter” and they had no business prying into it. The police noted that the incident is now being investigated, and the man will definitely answer for his actions - both for assault and domestic violence.
9. For the first time in the country's history, Saudi Arabia hosted a fashion show where models showed off swimsuits. The swimsuit collection was presented by Moroccan designer Yasmina Kanzal. She focused on one-piece designs in red, beige and blue, with bare shoulders and, in some, partially exposed midriffs. Despite the strict morals, the designer decided to demonstrate swimsuits that are not only elegant, but also reflect the originality of the Arab world.

10. The Europa League final was held on May 22. In a match at the “Aviva” stadium in Dublin, the Italian “Atalanta” beat the German “Bayer” with a score of 3:0. Ademola Lookman scored a hat-trick for the winners. “Bayer” suffered their first defeat of the season, ending their record 51-match streak.
11. The coaching staff of the Turkmenistan national football team, led by Mergen Orazov, announced the team composition for the June qualifying games for the 2026 World Cup and the training camp preceding them. The extended list included 25 players. Due to injuries, midfielder Ruslan Mingazov from Hong Kong “Kitchee” and goalkeeper “Arkadag” Rasul Charyev will not be able to play in the upcoming matches. The national team's training camp will take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from May 26 to June 4.
