According to a study by scientists from the University of Washington, life expectancy in the world will increase by 5 years by 2050.

An analysis of global burden of disease data found that from 1990 to 2019, life expectancy increased by an average of 0,27 years each year. After the coronavirus pandemic, this pace slowed down a little, but did not stop. From 2022, an increase of 0,16 years per year is projected, which will ultimately lead to an increase in life expectancy from 73,6 to 78,2 years by 2050.

The main factors for increasing life expectancy are a decrease in mortality from heart disease, respiratory infections and tuberculosis. The reduction in maternal and neonatal mortality also played a major role.

Despite the aging of the planet's population and the increase in mortality from various causes, these factors, according to scientists, will have a stronger impact on life expectancy. Geopolitical, climate and environmental challenges will not be able to prevent this. This was reported by “MIR 24” with reference to The Lancet.
