Festive events dedicated to Constitution Day were held in Ashgabat. The central part of the celebrations was the ceremony of laying flowers at the Constitution Monument and the Main Flag of the country with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, writes TDH.
In his address to his compatriots, the head of state emphasized that the Basic Law and the national banner symbolize the inviolability of independence, sovereignty and the commitment of the Turkmen people to the ideals of peace, creativity and humanism.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, the Constitution of independent neutral Turkmenistan enshrines the foundations of the state structure, age-old concepts of the Motherland and people, as well as the principles of permanent neutrality, recognized at the UN level.
The President particularly highlighted the constitutional principle that proclaims man as the highest value of society and the state. This thesis underlies the country’s policy and the motto “The State for the People!” Thus, the well-being of citizens is the key to the strength and prosperity of independent Turkmenistan.
Representatives of authorities, public organizations and residents of Ashgabat also took part in the celebrations. Festive events took place throughout the country, demonstrating the unity of the Turkmen people around the Basic Law.
