1. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov returned to Ashgabat, having completed a working visit to Russia, during which he, as an honored guest, took part in the ceremonial events on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. On the morning of May 9, at the appointed time, the presidential motorcade arrived at the Kremlin building, where the head of Turkmenistan was warmly greeted by the Russian leader. From the Kremlin, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov headed to the site of the ceremonial military parade - the Central Tribune on Red Square. At the end of the military parade, according to the established good tradition, the heads of state laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. At the end of the ceremonial events, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded to “Vnukovo-2” airport, from where he flew to Ashgabat.
2. A solemn event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi was held in London. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the UK. During the celebration, poems by the Turkmen classic were read, and videos about the development of Turkmenistan and the work of Magtymguly Fragi were shown. After the official part, the guests visited an exhibition of works by Magtymguly Fragi, Turkmen national clothing, jewelry and examples of decorative and applied art of the Turkmen people.
3. In Ashgabat, on the territory of the Joint Turkmen-Russian secondary school named after. A.S. Pushkin, the traditional procession of the Immortal Regiment took place, in which more than a thousand people took part - school students, their parents, teaching staff, representatives of the public and diplomats of the Russian Embassy.
4. The delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs Rahimberdy Jepbarov took part in the XIII International Investment Forum and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi. During the forum, the Turkmen delegation held a number of bilateral meetings with partners from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the UAE. At the meetings, they discussed the development of economic relations, the efficient use of natural resources, the development of energy markets, attracting investments in large-scale projects, and also considered new mechanisms for contacts to increase productivity in fields, the introduction of environmentally friendly production, innovative technologies and know-how.
5. Within the framework of the events held in Turkmenistan in honor of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, war veterans who worked in the institutions of the “Turkmensvyaz” Agency were presented with bouquets of flowers, cash and valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan. Valentina Zherdova and Margusha Ayriyeva, who worked for decades in the communications industry, expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for his constant concern for the well-being of the families of participants in the Great Patriotic War, as well as for creating all the conditions for a decent life for veterans.
6. The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Energy Prospects, New Technologies and Environmental Aspects of Hydrocarbon Field Development” will be held in the city of Arkadag on June 5 and 6. The event will bring together leading experts in the oil and gas industry, scientists and representatives of international organizations to discuss current issues related to the future of energy. The conference will be held in person and online formats. Registration for participants is currently open.

At the anniversary summit of the Eurasian Economic Union, held in Moscow on May 8, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called on member states of the organization to join the transport corridor between Central Asia and the Gulf countries. “To enter the markets of the Persian Gulf, we invite the member states of the Economic Union, Kazakhstan is already doing this, to join the Ashgabat Agreement on the creation of an International Transport Corridor”, - Tokayev said. According to him, the main condition for establishing long-term integration is the presence of stable transport links with external markets.
8. For the first time in its 193 years of existence, London's oldest men's gentlemen's club, Garrick, has opened its doors to women. The decision was made by club members, including King Charles III, Sting and Benedict Cumberbatch. Until recently, women could only visit Garrick by invitation and accompanied by men. However, in March 2024, a group of prominent women lawyers came forward to demand that this outdated policy be changed. Their initiative found support.
