A group of representatives of travel agencies of Turkmenistan made a study visit to the Turkish cities of Sanliurfa and Gaziantep to get acquainted with local attractions and assess the tourism potential of these regions. Turkmenportal was informed about this by the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan.
The delegation visited the ancient archaeological site of Gobeklitepe in Sanliurfa, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is also known as the “Capital of Gastronomy” and is the first Turkish city to be included in the
UNESCO Creative Cities Network for Gastronomy. In Gaziantep, Turkmen specialists got acquainted with the world's largest Zeugma Mosaic Museum.
During the trip, organized by Turkish Airlines and the Turkish Tourism Development and Promotion Agency, participants were able to appreciate the unique tastes and cultural heritage of the regions visited. Business meetings were also held with representatives of the Turkish tourism industry to exchange information and establish cooperation.
