On April 23, a children’s festival “Hope for a green future” was held on the territory of the Joint Turkmen-Turkish School.

The festival was organized by the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan in cooperation with the public organization Ýaş Tebigatçy (“Young Naturalist”), reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

The event was timed to coincide with National Independence Day and Children's Day celebrated in Türkiye, as well as the International Day for a World Without Waste (March 30).

At the grand opening of the festival, school students performed Turkish and Turkmen folk dances. During the festival, children were delighted with the performances of jugglers, magicians and life-size puppets.

The children actively took part in various competitions and games.

According to representatives of the public organization Ýaş Tebigatçy, the holiday turned out to be not only spectacular, but also useful. A program was prepared for the children aimed at developing environmental literacy.

The eco-quest, which included intellectual and practical tasks, aroused great interest among schoolchildren. Divided into teams, the participants solved environmental problems - learned to conserve water, sort household waste, and also guessed puzzles about plants and the world around them. Participants who successfully completed all tasks were awarded incentive prizes.

Another thematic platform of the festival is an exhibition of competitive crafts made from recycled materials. Among them are designer products by Muhabat Berdyeva, who said the following:

- I came from the city of Mary specifically to participate in this festival. There is never any waste left in my house, since I can find a use for any thing in the creative process. For example, cardboard is a good material for creating decorated boxes, and any button can become a spectacular detail when decorating objects of arts and crafts in the steampunk style.

Entries were judged on creativity, functionality and environmental friendliness. All participants in the crafts competition were awarded certificates from the Public Organization Ýaş Tebigatçy and symbolic gifts, the source notes.
