Kenta Adachi from Japan has become the new world record holder for the most pull-ups in 24 hours. He managed to complete 8,940 pull-ups, 300 reps ahead of the previous record holder, Gary Lloyd of Australia. This is reported by daily.afisha.ru with reference to the Guinness Book of Records website.
This is not Adati's first record. In 2022, he was already included in the Guinness Book of Records, having pulled himself up 651 times in a row.
It is worth noting that the athlete himself was not always a sports fan. His motivation for training came when he joined the Japanese Coast Guard in 2007, where he failed a pull-up test. Not giving up, he trained hard to develop this skill.
“I knew the 24-hour record was the top of the pyramid, the king of all pull-up records,” Adachi says.
“My body hurt, I felt sick, it was difficult to get up on the uneven bars. But I couldn't give up. My wife, witnesses and colleagues supported me. I realized that I couldn't do this alone. It was only thanks to the support that I was able to hold out for 24 hours. I'm proud that so many people helped this
