In the first quarter of 2024, stable growth in macroeconomic indicators was recorded in Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, TDH reports.
In accordance with the data presented, the volume of production for January–March 2024 increased by 8.8% compared to the same period in 2023. Retail turnover increased by 11%.
The revenue side of the state budget was fulfilled by 102.9%, and the expenditure side by 97.6%. Wages at large and medium-sized enterprises increased by 10%. The volume of capital investments in the economy from all sources of financing increased by 25.3%.
In addition, a report on the implementation of the Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022–2028 was presented at the meeting. Of the planned 370 objects, construction has been completed on 20, work is underway on 207, and preparatory work has begun on the rest.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to maintain stable GDP growth and take measures to further develop production sectors. He also focused on the importance of ensuring full execution of the budget revenues and rational spending of budget funds.
