As part of his official visit to Tajikistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers and other relevant leaders. Issues related to the current state of bilateral cooperation and its prospects were discussed, TDH reports.

Addressing the meeting participants, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of humanitarian ties in Turkmen-Tajik relations. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the need to exchange experience, study the cultural heritage and popularize the traditions of the two peoples.

Speaking about the great potential for mutually beneficial partnership, including in agriculture, the need to make full use of existing opportunities was emphasized.

Regarding the energy sector, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of introducing innovation and digital technologies, as well as an integrated approach to the implementation of agreements.

Issues of intensifying cooperation in the transport sector and effective use of the transit potential of Turkmenistan along the Great Silk Road were also discussed.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also touched upon the possibilities for developing interaction in the urban planning field, including the “smart city” concept, giving relevant instructions.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted the importance of the practical implementation of agreements reached at the Turkmen-Tajik business forum and the launch of new joint projects.
