Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with a delegation of the Russian TASS news agency led by First Deputy Director General Mihail Gusman. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the information sphere, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
One of the key points of the negotiations was the Memorandum of Cooperation between the State News Agency of Turkmenistan and TASS on the exchange of news materials. An important step in strengthening the partnership was the accreditation of a TASS journalist at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for prompt coverage of events in the country.
The Turkmen side emphasized that the development of partnerships in the field of information policy and the media is one of the priorities identified by the President of Turkmenistan. This is aimed at increasing the level of international cooperation, integrating national media into the global information space, comprehensive coverage of the life of the country and interstate relations, and strengthening the authority of Turkmenistan in the international arena.
At the end of the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of establishing the work of news agencies and agreed to support the exchange of current news.
