The UN adopted the resolution of Turkmenistan “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust”

The General Assembly of the United Nations, at its 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session, unanimously adopted the resolution “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust”, initiated by Turkmenistan.

This resolution is intended to promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts through diplomatic means and strengthen trust between states.

The good news about this important political achievement was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during a government meeting.

Having listened to the report of the Deputy Prime Minister, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the unanimous adoption of the resolution by 86 co-sponsors is a high honor for Turkmenistan and evidence of international recognition of the country’s efforts to ensure global peace, sustainable development and strengthening trust between states. On behalf of the Turkmen people, he expressed sincere gratitude to all countries that supported the initiative.

The head of state assured that Turkmenistan will continue systematic activities to implement the peacekeeping goals approved in the resolution. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved proposals for holding events, creating an organizational commission and developing international cooperation in this area.

Thus, the new UN resolution, adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan, is a significant contribution to strengthening the culture of peace and trust in international relations. The upcoming International Year of Peace and Trust in 2025 will become a platform for uniting the efforts of the world community in this important direction.
