Recently, a seminar on the topic “Ways of commercialization of science” was held at the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Technocenter, the Magtymguly Turkmen State University , the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management.
According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the participants considered such topics as “Scientific foundations for improving entrepreneurial business teams in the digital environment”, “Features of attracting investments in the commercialization of scientific initiatives”, “Commercialization of innovative developments”, “Modern types of e-commerce "
Also among the topics discussed were the scientific and technological basis for the sustainable use of land and water resources, the results of research on harmala, widely used in folk medicine, and lycopene, which is a powerful antioxidant.
The purpose of the seminar is to promote and commercialize promising technologies and scientific developments of Turkmen scientists, attract investment for their implementation in production, which is the main task of a special unit of the ANT Technocenter - the technology transfer center. The center’s tasks include determining the commercial potential of scientific developments, calculating the final results of their implementation in production and preparing proposals, a business plan, and a feasibility study.
The center also conducts marketing research on the market for innovative technologies and forms a portfolio of technological requests and projects, the source notes.
