The current head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is leading in the presidential elections. Based on the results of processing 99,01% of the protocols of precinct election commissions, he gains 87,32% of the votes. In second place is the candidate from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Nikolai Kharitonov (4,31% of the votes). The third is the representative of the New People party Vladislav Davankov (3,79%). The LDPR candidate Leonid Slutsky closes the top four (3,19% of the votes).
For the first time in its history, Russia held three-day presidential elections, which were held on March 15-17.
