37 medals - 10 gold, 9 silver and 18 bronze - were won by Turkmen athletes at international competitions in January-February 2024. Deputy Prime Minister Nurmuhammet Amannepesov announced this during a Government meeting, TDH writes.
As reported, the country is working to develop the sports and Olympic movement, prepare athletes for the Olympic Games, championships and major international competitions, and develop the digital system.
A meeting of the organizing committee for the international hockey tournament, created in accordance with the Resolution of the head of state, was held. To improve skills and exchange experience, business trips were made to foreign countries.
In accordance with the Concepts for the development of a digital educational system, improving the teaching of foreign languages, and teaching subjects in natural and exact sciences, advanced methods and achievements of science are widely used in teaching. Appropriate measures have been taken to expand the electronic document management system.
School students successfully performed at international Internet Olympiads and won 30 medals.
During the reporting period, reforms aimed at modernizing the field of science continued. The development of 494 scientific topics was agreed upon, textbooks, manuals, and programs were analyzed and 359 of them were approved.
Work is underway to organize the International Scientific Conference “Ancient Anau Culture” on the occasion of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi and the announcement of the ancient city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
In January–February, planned activities were carried out in medical institutions. At the expense of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, various operations and treatment of sick children were carried out. The construction and reconstruction of scientific and clinical centers continues.
After listening to the report, the head of state emphasized that special attention should be paid to improving the activities of educational institutions and introducing digital technologies into the national education system.
Particular attention should be paid to the development of sports, in connection with which various sporting events and international competitions are regularly held in the country.
