Autry Stevens, 85, one of the world's richest men, has sold his company Endeavor Energy Resources for $26 billion. This deal made him the richest oil tycoon in the United States. This is reported by daily.afisha.ru with reference to Bloomberg.
Stevens founded Endeavor in 1979 and has long resisted proposals to sell it. However, cancer pushed him to take this step.
“I’m going to miss the people,” Stevens says, calling the company “a little family.”
What will he do with the fabulous sum? He doesn't know yet. Stevens is known for his frugal lifestyle. He drives an old Toyota Land Cruiser and flies on budget airlines.
The businessman did not transfer the company to his daughter Lyndal Gret, who is on the board of directors.
