On the 215th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth, the world saw the revival of his library. For the first time since the scientist's death in 1882, his extensive collection of books has been reassembled by researchers at the Darwin Online project. This is reported by gazeta.ru with reference to CNN.

The 300-page catalog compiled by the project team is a detailed list of the 7,400 titles and 13 000 volumes that originally belonged to Darwin. The catalog also contains 9,300 links to copies of these books available in various libraries around the world.

“This unprecedentedly detailed overview of Darwin's entire library allows us to appreciate more than ever the details of his work and understand that he was an expert, drawing on complex science, research and the knowledge of thousands of people,” says Dr John van Wy, project leader from the National University of Singapore.
