President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution on a significant increase in government procurement prices for wheat and cotton, starting with the 2024 harvest, TDH reports.

Compared to the purchase prices that were established in 2019, the price per ton of wheat was raised 2.5 times - from 800 to 2 000 manats.

The cost of medium-staple cotton has more than tripled. If since 2019 it ranged from 1365 to 1500 manats per ton, now it will vary from 4550 to 5000 manats per ton, depending on the harvest period.

Prices for fine-fiber cotton have increased even more significantly - from 1820-2000 to 6100-6700 manats per ton.

The increase in purchase prices is intended to contribute to the successful implementation of the state program of socio-economic development for 2022-2028, to increase the production of wheat and cotton in the country, and to stimulate the labor of farmers.
