In Turkmenistan, at the end of 2023, the plan for the production of natural and associated gas was fulfilled by 106.9%, and for gas export - by 112.6%. Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov reported about this during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, TDH reports.

According to the report, during the period under review, the oil refineries of the State Concern "Turkmennebit" fulfilled the plan for oil refining at the level of 100.6%, the production of gasoline - by 102%, diesel fuel - by 102.2%, petroleum bitumen - by 199%, lubricating oils - by 105.8%, liquefied gas – by 115.7%.

Noting that the oil and gas sector is one of the key sectors of the national economy, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue to ensure a reliable supply of natural gas to domestic and foreign consumers. At the same time, emphasis was placed on the need for phased industrial development of the Galkynyş gas field, attracting foreign companies to the exploration and development of the Caspian Sea shelf. The head of state also ordered to keep the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline in the spotlight.

A number of pressing tasks were identified: carrying out appropriate work on existing fields to increase oil production volumes; increasing the production capacity of the Turkmenbashy oil processing complex and the Seydi oil refinery with the creation of new high-tech production facilities.

In continuation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to carry out exploration and search for promising deposits of hydrocarbon resources at the proper level. Along with this, the importance of accelerating the pace of geological surveys to search for deposits of mineral solids, building materials and groundwater was noted.

“Particular attention must be paid to the systematic improvement of the qualifications of industry specialists, the introduction of digital technologies, as well as issues related to reducing the negative impact of the oil and gas sector on the environment and human health,” said the head of Turkmenistan, addressing a number of instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister.
