Turkmenistan's GDP growth at the end of 2023 amounted to 6.3%

At the end of 2023, GDP growth was 6.3%. Deputy Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov said this during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, TDH writes.

It was noted that as a result of comprehensive measures taken in the past year, stable GDP growth was ensured, which amounted to 6.3%. In the industrial complex, this figure increased by 4.3%, construction - by 2%, transport and communications sector - by 8.4%, trade - by 12.8%, agriculture - by 4.4%, in the service sector - by 5.1%.

Compared to 2022, in 2023 overall production output increased by 7.8%. Positive production indicators have been achieved in economic sectors.

The volume of retail trade last year increased by 10.9% compared to 2022.

Wages for large and medium-sized enterprises in the country are 9.9% higher compared to 2022. During the period under review, wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were funded on time and in full.

In 2023, the plan for the development of capital investments from all sources of financing was completed in full and increased by 7.5% compared to 2022.

During the meeting, the draft Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2024 was also presented.

The document was developed jointly with ministries, industry departments, hyakimliks of velayats, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, in accordance with the priorities identified in the seven-year Presidential Program and the State Budget for the current year.
