On February 9, the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Kazakhstan, Aizhan Esmagambetova, signed a decree recommending wearing masks in public places. This is due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus, measles and other respiratory viral infections, reports forbez.kz.

Authorities recommend:

  • Staff and visitors to medical organizations must wear masks.
  • Antiseptics must be available in medical institutions.
  • The population needs to conduct awareness-raising work about measures to prevent COVID-19, influenza and ARVI.
  • Wear masks in crowded places: airports, train stations, markets, shopping centers, theaters, cinemas, public service centers, banks, etc.
  • Ensure the availability of masks in public transport (buses, trains, planes).

Let us remind that the mask regime was canceled in Kazakhstan at the end of January 2023. Over the past few days, Mazhilis Speaker Erlan Koshanov and presidential adviser Kanat Bozumbayev have contracted the coronavirus.
