On February 6, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultanbay Raev, during which the parties discussed large-scale cooperation plans for 2024. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
It was noted at the meeting that cultural interaction lies at the heart of political, diplomatic and economic ties between Turkic-speaking countries. The year 2024 is especially significant for Turkmenistan in connection with the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi and the election of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.
In this regard, the parties discussed a large-scale program of joint events both in Turkmenistan and in other TURKSOY member countries. In addition, it is planned to popularize the creativity of Magtymguly Fragi and the cultural significance of the ancient city of Anau on various international platforms.
